Laval Rocket-Monthly Overview-April 2021

With Laval Rocket season ending in May, the team has proven that they can be and are the best team in the AHL right now. From young and veteran forwards, to defensemen and goaltenders, this team is proven to be the best of the best this year. Bouchard knowing what to get from his players and the relationship the players have with one another is so important to the team’s winning success this season.

What to look into for the 8 games?

Forwards:

#44 -Caufield: 3 goals and 1 assist (4 points) in 3 games played. He will be making his NHL debut on April 26th vs the Calgary Flames in Calgary, Alberta.

#41- Poehling: 5 goals and 5 assists (10 points) in 8 games played.

Defensemen:

#4- Paquette-Bisson: 1G And 3 assists (4 points) in 8 games played.

#29- Olofsson- 6 assists in 7 games played.

Goaltenders:

#31-Primeau- With a 1-0 record for April due to being called up to the Montreal Canadiens to help out Jake Allen because of Carey Price’s injuries. He has been solid all season for the Laval Rocket.

#3- McNiven- With a 3-1 record for April. He is a solid goaltender as well. He really helps the team when it is necessary and in the important moments.

#33-Demchenko– With a  2-0 record for April. He is also a solid third goalie for this team.

With only 5 games remaining in this season, Rocket will play Belleville one more time and the Toronto Marlies 4 more times. Laval Rocket are top of the standings right now, in the division and league wise as well. If they continue to be on top, they will become the Divisional Champions for this year, due to the AHL not having any bubble playoffs.

What matters is that the young rookies are developing and being able to show their skills on the ice. If you haven’t watched the Laval Rocket, take a chance and watch. Their games are always enjoyable because of the core they have.
